Solar for free, a unique concept

JPB Solar Energy Cyprus offers you the possibility to gain from cheaper electricity and buy and pay for the photovoltaic system after 3 years at a discount of 15%. After those 3 years you can decide every year to buy the system at a compounded discount of 5% annually. So, after 4 years you pay 80% of the quotation amount, after 5 years 75% of the quotation amount, etc.

During that time JPB Solar Energy Cyprus will charge you for the electricity supplied to you by the photovoltaic system, but at a rate 20% lower than the rate calculated by the EAC. Without any investment you already save money.

Of course, you can also just buy the photovoltaic system directly from JPB and benefit from the favorable number of sunshine hours in Cyprus and the Netmetering system that the Cyprus government has set up. The Net metering system means that the extra electricity produced by your system that you do not use immediately is supplied to the grid. The EAC will give back that electricity, for example at night, without charging you for the electricity (only minor grid costs are charged).

What we do

JPB Solar Energy Cyprus is one of the companies of the JPB Cyprus Holding Group located in Paphos. We sell and install solar panels in Cyprus for both homeowners and companies. Because photovoltaic systems are intended to supply electricity for more than 30 years, we have chosen the absolute top brands JA Solar and SOLITEC for the solar panels and Huawei for the inverters.

JA Solar provides a 12-year product warranty and a 30-year linear power output warranty (at least 87.2% after 25 year). SOLITEC provides a 20-year product warranty and a 25-year 80% max output guarantee performance of the panels (at least 80% after 25 year). Huawei comes with an extended 10-year warranty on the inverters. We want to ensure you get the best out of the sun so we invented the unique concept: Solar for free, where we install a PV solar system on your roof for free.

Solar panels

We offer two kinds of solar panels: Bifacial and non-Bifacial. Bifacial means that the backside of the panel will produce electricity as well. We highly recommend the Bifacial panels. The regulations limits JPB Solar Energy Cyprus in offering you solar panels that only covers 90% of your annual electricity consumption.

According to the Cyprus government directive, the electricity production of an average photovoltaic system is 1600-kilowatt hours (kWh) per installed kilowatt (kWp). Because the backside of the JA Solar Bifacial panels also produces electricity, the production of a Bifacial panel can be up to 10% higher than an average non bifacial solar system. With a slightly higher investment, your payback time will be about the same, and you will benefit from the extra income of the Bifacial panels for 30 years or more.

Procedure

Based on your annual energy consumption we make a proposal that has an optimal ratio between investment and returns. Once you accept this offer we will visit and measure your property. If there is not enough space to put an optimal sized photovoltaic system based on your annual energy consumption, we will make a final offer based on the space available on your property.

After you have decided to accept our final offer, JPB will take care of all permits and paperwork for you. This is all included in our quote.

FAQ

What is a PV system?

A PV system basically consists of solar panels, cabling and an inverter. The solar panels convert sunlight to electricity and the inverter converts that electricity into electricity that fits to the numbers that your electrical equipment need to function well.

What will be my annual saving?

With current electricity prices so high, your system will pay for itself within 4 years in most cases. This means that your annual savings are about a quarter of your quote price.

What size system do I need?

Depending on your average electricity consumption, your roof size and future needs, the size of the system will be dimensionalised by our team. For an average home we will install between 6 to 20 solar panels. This corresponds to a power of 3-10 kWatts and an annual production of 4800-16000 kWh.

How long do the solar PV systems last?

Your solar panels will last for 30 years or more. Your inverter will last for between 10 and 20 years.

How much space does it require?

Depending on the shape of your roof you will need 5 till 10 sqm for every kWh installed. An average house will need between 25 and 50 sqm space.

What angle should I mount my solar panels? Where should it be facing?

In Cyprus, the angle of your solar panels are not crucial for the annual production of your PV system. If you install them almost flat (5 degrees) the PV system will produce most in summer. If you put them on 27 degrees the PV system will produce more in spring and autumn and a bit less in summer.

A solar PV system is producing the most if facing South. This does not mean that when your roof is not facing South perfectly it is not possible to install solar panels. JPB Solar Energy Cyprus has software that can calculate the yield of your system when facing in a different direction.

How does weather affect PV module output?

Of course a PV system produces most electricity on sunny days but also on cloudy days the PV system will produce electricity.

Can I get a PV solar system installed on my house for free?

It might sound strange, but the answer is yes. We can install a PV solar system on your house for free. In return we will charge you for the electricity produced by the PV solar system. Only we will charge you with a discount of 20% compared to the rates of the EAC. If later on you decide you want to own the PV solar system, JPB Solar Energy Cyprus will give you a compounded discount of 5% on the price we agreed on your contract.

What is Netbilling?

The Netbilling system means that the extra electricity produced by your system on the day that you do not use it immediately is bought by the EAC. The EAC will buy the extra electricity from you that your photovoltaic system produces at the given price rate. (The EAC charges a slightly higher rate than they pay)
